I need Burns beside me as I live life, and this is a great one-volume collection of his greatest works in a convenient format. Glossed well; you won't have to use an index at the back of the book. Here's tae ye, Rabbie!

Robert Burns uses a lot of Scots words, but any word you don't understand is defined in this edition in the margin right alongside the poem. So reading is smooth and very enjoyable. A great introduction to Robert Burns, and a good companion to other volumes. "Cutty Sark" means skimpy petticoat!!

This unassuming paperback is my favorite Thai cookbook. It explains clearly and simply the common ingredients, where to get them and how to handle them. The basic curries are an aromatic delight while assembling, and my dinner guests always give the final results rave reviews. The cooking techniques are clearly explained and easy to follow. What more can you ask from a cookbook? Well, beautiful photos of food presentations, I suppose--but I'm usually disappointed with the results of those cookbooks!

I have five Thai cooking books and this is by far my favorite. It has easy to follow instructions with descriptions of desired results, such as "stir fry until golden brown but not crispy", instead of "stir fry 5-7 minutes". Most all of the recipes I've tried are delicious and I return to them time and time again. And all of the ingredients required are easily available at your asian market. This isn't the newest Thai cookbook out there, but it's the best one I've tried.

Johnathan Crawford has put together a comprehensive collection of articles on toy soldiers together with a large 'yellow pages' directory of dealers, stores, manufacturers, suppliers and publications to make this book THE Toy Soldier Book to get hold of.

The best thing that I like is its 'up to date', published late '98, it has an article that deal with "Cyber Soldiers on the Web" which, as you are reading this via the internet, it is most relevant to our hobby. The advertising and sales via Internet,together with the exhibitions of toy soldiers, such as my site, will come even more to the forefront into the next century.

The 220-page spiral bound book, contains articles which will provide the reader with much background into all aspects of our hobby. There one article from Jonathan on "Better Toy Soldier Modeling, Casting & Painting" which has help helped me with my painting, simple tips, but things that I hadn't thought about.

Both British and American plastics have historical articles that trace their rise in the 1950's and also Composition Figures are well covered in Jack Matthews pages covering Elastolin, Lionel, other manufacturers, types of figures and collecting hints. Heyde Figures also feature so this has been an awakening to me about this German manufacturer .

I really enjoyed reading the pages on "Getting Started", "So You Want To Collect" and "Thoughts On Collecting", they are most relevant to all of us who are collecting, What era should I specialise in? What type of figures? Should I only collect one particular country, corps, pose, or age. The possibilties are endless, but read these pages and hopefully you may be able to rationalise your collection, or make it bigger!

Britains is heading in a new direction, so you can meet the people who will be guiding it into 2000. There are interview with both the UK and USA staff so we can all get to know who is at the helm of the flagship of toy soldiers. I had not realised what had been going on behind the scenes but by reading the interviews you will appreciate the work that has and will be happening with the new releases of their figures.

They wide use of images that have been well placed into all the articles are most relevant to the text, and enhance the content. They say, "a picture is worth a thousand words", so you are getting quite a coverage of toy soldiers from all around the world. I found the advertising very useful and as it gives many contacts to follow up if you are searching for a particular type of soldier or manufacturer. The Photo Picture Page are a great addition, I can put face to names that I read about, maybe it's a bit of a rogues gallery, but I leave it to you to see and comment.

The extensive use of URLs and email addresses in the advertising has showed me how much the Internet is growing and it use in sales of toy soldiers. Many of the manufactures and suppliers and shops now have websites or email addresses. This means that you can sit in front of your computer and converse with the manufacturer, shop owner, or publisher and find out what is new, is it in stock, can you order it, all at the touch of a key pad. The comprehensive "Yellow Pages" Directory list not only dealers, stores and manufacturers, but also casting and suppliers, auction houses, restoration services and publications. They have been arranged by country, and classification, so it is very easy to check "Where is my closest supplier?", or "Who is the contact there?". One very useful page lists the time chart so you know what time to telephone, and includes the International Telephone County Codes (for those without email!)

What more can I say, "get out and buy one" and see for yourself.

I can recommend this book as a valuable resource to today's toy soldier collector.

Everything a collector needs to know is in this book, and the price was a bargain.

Joint Application Development is, in my opinion, one of the most powerful tools available to analysts and consultants for capturing business requirements directly from the source - the business process owners and subject matter experts. This book is among the best I've come across on the subject and is worth the time and effort to track down.

What I most like is the way this book stays consistently focused on discovering (and uncovering) *business* requirements to be used as the foundation of information systems and applications. The book itself is divided into ten parts, each of which builds on the other to form a coherent approach to conducting JAD workshops and using the product of the workshop sessions as input into the requirements process.

Parts I through III introduce JAD, its underlying concepts and how they relate to business processes. Part IV provides guidelines for developing a business solution, while Parts V and VI guides you through the actual techniques and procedures that will be used in the JAD sessions.

After this point the book quickly picks up the pace and goes directly to the heart of JAD by showing how to capture the business vision and manage changes from the sessions as they [inevitably] occur. It's interesting to note some of the parallels between the approach in Part VI and the Microsoft Solution Framework (MSF). If you are using the MSF this book will add value to your processes because in many respects the approaches are either the same or complimentary.

Parts VIII and XI wrap up the JAD process by thoroughly discussing requirements and specifications, which are the two main products that JAD workshops are designed to capture. The rest of the book is devoted to skills profiles for workshop leaders, an implementation checklist that is invaluable, and excellent advice. I particularly liked the workshop templates, which will greatly aid you in setting up and conducting JAD workshops, and the way that the author guides you through the pitfalls that you will encounter when facilitating these workshops. Follow Mr. Crawford's advice and the time spent in the sessions will be used efficiently and effectively. Follow the approach in this excellent book and you stand a good chance of capturing the right requirements, and ensuring that they are validated by consensus of all stakeholders.

Although the book needs to be updated, it is a great source for African-Americans who are traveling to another destination and want to find a business that relates to them. This is an important source for the black community. We need to be more commercialized in our own communities rather than being slaves to the designer name brands and major chain department stores that don't support our interest or contribute to our community. Black businesses face crucial economic times and we must contribute our spending dollars to keep them operating.

This book is a reprint of an excellent series of articles by Don Crawford that were first published in Kitplanes magazine. These articles focus on "bite-sized" pieces of the overall design problem. Many articles are accompanied by computer program code listings. An excellent resource for anyone that would like to design their own aircraft, or modify their homebuilt.

With a wit similar to Dorothy Parker, and a unique personality all her own, Pauline Avery Crawford was one the more interesting American women during World War II. Robertson does an excellent job atpresenting her spirit as well as her paranoia, and in drawing a complex portrait of a very strong-willed and brilliant woman. Highly recommended! Her poetry is not to be missed.

I am somewhat astonished by this collection of folk songs collected from mainly the southern Appalacians(but containing songs even from old California and other far places). My surprise comes from the fact that someone has been able to stay to the real(I'd underline that real if I knew how on this computer). As we know, music seems to change ownership. I believe, now, many Japanese business people own much of the copyrighted American music. But that's if we want to talk about nationality and other abstract and arbitrary concepts. The trancriptions for piano and voice from fiddles and other folk instruments are honest and stylization free except as simple, beautiful, and funny expressions that get the imagination going. I'm grateful for this collection because my mark for true has become more clear.
